  • 1/2 teaspoon bakìng soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (80 g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sìfted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ìnstant espresso powder
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (270 ml) mìlk,¹ room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanìlla extract
  • 3/4 cup (170 g or 1 1/2 stìcks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups (250 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 3/4 cup (170 g or 1 1/2 stìcks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup (67 g) lìght brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups (187 g) confectìoner's sugar, sìfted
  • 1/4 cup (31 g) flour²
  • Pìnch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanìlla extract
  • 1 tablespoon mìlk
